In conventional residential areas, boundaries have tended to be thick and rigid, rarely contributing to everyday living.In this proposal, a thermally responsive wall is placed in front of a large opening, allowing the space to open outward while maintaining a high level of privacy.At the same time, dividing the site with a water channel preserves visual continuity, yet makes physical crossing difficult—creating an invisible boundary.By selectively combining these two types of boundaries—a heat-retaining wall that ensures privacy, and an open water edge that maintains visual connection—the design achieves both comfortable living spaces and rich boundary conditions.Furthermore, placing a courtyard at the center of the dwelling blurs the line between inside and outside.
