年老いた自分のことを考えることありませんか？総務省によると、65歳以上の独り暮らしの数は年々増加傾向にあり、2040年には896万人に達すると推定されているんです。高齢者の独り暮らしにはさまざまなリスクがある上、地域社会から孤立してしまうことも珍しくありません。 このような単身高齢者のためにはどのような建築が適しているのだろうか元気なうちに考えてみました。小津安二郎の「東京物語」の続編のような、東京そのものを家族だと思いたい、そんな作品です。
Have you ever thought about your future self in old age?According to Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the number of people aged 65 and over living alone continues to rise each year, and is projected to reach 8.96 million by 2040.Living alone in old age comes with various risks, and it’s not uncommon for people to become isolated from their communities.So, what kind of architecture is suited for elderly individuals living on their own?
It’s something I’ve started to consider while still healthy and able.

この提案では単身高齢者を想定し、高齢者の住まいと宿泊・食堂機能を併せ持つ空間を設計。住まい手のおばあちゃんが寂しさを感じないよう、水平方向と垂直方向ともに利用者と繋がっていられる空間構成を目指し、最終的にL字のボリュームとなりました。１Fに住まい・食堂・アトリエを配置し、2Fはドミトリーを配置。２つのボリュームは吹き抜けを介して繋ぐことで、いつも誰かの声が聞こえる賑やかな暮らしをイメージしています。吹き抜けはゲストハウスの賑やかな声を１Fに届け、食堂からの香ばしい香りを２Fに漂わせてくれます。ず～っとお腹すくかも。
This proposal envisions housing for a single elderly resident, combining a private home with lodging and dining functions.
To ensure the grandmother who lives here never feels alone, the design creates connections both horizontally and vertically, resulting in an L-shaped volume.The first floor houses the living space, dining area, and atelier, while the second floor contains a dormitory.
The two volumes are linked by a void, allowing voices to travel freely and creating a lively atmosphere where someone is always present.
The void carries the cheerful sounds of the guesthouse down to the first floor, while the savory aromas from the dining space drift up to the second.You might end up feeling hungry all the time.
This is the defining feature of a plan shaped by “gentle boundaries.”
