世界は性欲と権力欲によって動いているんだって（笑）。そして現代の東京は、そのうち権力が主導する街づくりによって形づくられた都市なんです。この提案では、閉ざされたラブホテルを街に開放しつつ、その独特な空間特性を継承し、わくわくどきどきする「愛の建築」として再編。権力の世界で「愛」のあり方を考えてみます！
The world is driven by sexual desire and the desire for power.Contemporary Tokyo, however, has been shaped primarily by power-driven urbandevelopment.This proposal seeks to open closed-off love hotels to the city while inheriting their unique spatial qualities, reconfiguring them into an “architecture of love” that excites and inspires.

などラブホテルがラブホテルたる要素をいかに残していくかがこの設計で建築的におもしろいところと思います。
It can be said that, under Japan’s Adult Entertainment Business Law, love hotels can no longer be newly built or renovated. Yet, throughout history, love hotels have embraced and reflected the forms of love of their times. The core of this design lay in how to preserve the very elements that make a love hotel what it is—such as direct stairways to guest rooms, theatrical bed spaces, dining facilities, and distinctive exteriors.
今回の提案は、廃墟となったラブホテルの改修案です。「愛」のためだけに存在する建築であるラブホテルは、実は日本にしかありません。でも、新風営法によって新築も改修もできなくなっている。かつてラブホテルは、人の本能を刺激し、欲望を解き放つ人間味あふれる場所でした。権力によって過剰に整理されてしまった現代の都市において、ラブホテルが持つ人間味こそが、再び都市をわくわくどきどき心躍る場へと変えていくのではないかなと思いました。ラブホテルは、特に都市において群を成して存在しています。東京のラブホテル街を分析した結果、都市を分断するような形態をとっていることを発見！今回の提案は、渋谷区道玄坂二丁目が対象です。ここでは、ラブホテル街によって再開発エリアと商店街が分断されていて、「再開発 → 大通り → ラブホテル街 → 百軒店 → 住宅」という五層構造をつくっていました。結構特殊だと思います。道玄坂の廃業ラブホテルの改修を通じてこの分断を解消、そしてラブホテルのあり方から愛への価値観を変えていく提案をしてみました。
This proposal presents a renovation plan for a derelict love hotel. Love hotels—architectures dedicated solely to “love”—are uniquely Japanese. However, due to revisions in the Entertainment Business Law, both new construction and renovation have become increasingly restricted.
Once, love hotels were places rich in human presence—spaces that stimulated instinct and released desire. In today’s cities, which have been overly regulated and ordered by authority, I began to think that this very human quality embedded in love hotels could once again transform the city into a place of excitement and emotional intensity.
Love hotels often exist in clusters, especially in urban areas. Through an analysis of love hotel districts in Tokyo, I found that they tend to create spatial divisions within the city. The site for this proposal is Dogenzaka 2-chome in Shibuya. Here, the love hotel district divides the redevelopment zone and the traditional shopping street, forming a distinctive five-layered structure: “redevelopment → main street → love hotel district → Hyakkendana → residential area.” It is quite a unique urban condition.
By renovating abandoned love hotels in Dogenzaka, this proposal aims to dissolve these divisions and, through rethinking the role of love hotels, to shift our perception of “love” itself.

「開かれたラブホテル」は「たて」と「よこ」に開放されながら、ラブホテルの外側と内側を繋ぐ。密集した都市の１Fに誰も見捨てない開放的な居場所を作り、ラブホテル同士が１Fレベルで干渉し繋がります。
The “open love hotel” connects its interior and exterior while opening both vertically and horizontally. At the ground level of a dense urban fabric, it creates an inclusive, open place where no one is left behind, allowing multiple love hotels to interact and connect with one another at the first-floor level.
