大きな葉の緑が小さな苺の一粒を引き立たせるように、、、。避暑地となる夏は、雄大な「北軽井沢」の緑が、一軒の「Strawberry House」を際立たせます。人が減る冬は、まるで練乳をかけられた苺のようにそこに横たわり、観る者に日本の冬の美しさを気づかせてくれるでしょう。
Just as broad green leaves set off a single small strawberry… in summer, when it becomes a retreat from the heat, the expansive greenery of Kita-Karuizawa highlights a solitary “Strawberry House.” In winter, when fewer people visit, it lies there like a strawberry drizzled with condensed milk, quietly revealing the beauty of the Japanese winter to those who behold it.

北軽井沢は標高1,000～1,400mと軽井沢より高い位置にあります。そのため、軽井沢よりも涼しく、かつ物件価格が半分以下であるため、外国人人気が高まっているんです。ただそれによって北軽井沢の豊かな自然や暮らしを損なわせることはあってはいけませんよね。
夏の避暑地として魅力溢れる北軽井沢だけど、住む場所として冬の魅力も存分に惹きだしなから、自然との調和を目指したい。冬の集客のために、美しい高地の世界で毎年開催されている「炎のまつり」のように、北軽井沢の自然を惹き立てる建築を考えます。
Kita-Karuizawa sits at an elevation of 1,000 to 1,400 meters, higher than Karuizawa itself. As a result, it offers a cooler climate, and with property prices at less than half those of Karuizawa, it has been gaining popularity among international buyers. However, this should not come at the cost of its rich natural environment and way of life.
While Kita-Karuizawa is already an आकर्षive summer retreat, this proposal seeks to fully draw out its winter potential as a place to live, aiming for harmony with nature. Inspired by events like the annual “Fire Festival,” held in this beautiful highland setting, it envisions architecture that enhances and celebrates the natural landscape of Kita-Karuizawa—especially as a way to attract visitors in the winter season.
